Interesting article on the Falcon programming language

Odd programming language, especially the for loop, with the forfirst: formiddle:, and forend: stuff.

New lower power server

I’m building a new lower power server to replace my Athlon64 4600++. The new box is going to use a Gigabyte motherboard, and AMD energy efficient CPU, and a couple of Western Digital “Green” drives.

The new system uses 100W; nearly 40W less than the current server, which is a substantial saving when the box is on 24×7. Disk performance will not be as good as I’m using a four disk raid5, versus the current six disk raid6, and the drives are slower than in the current server.

Heart Attack

Having just recently suffered a heart attack, I am staying with my ex-wife for a while. She is making sure I don’t over do it, and I’m bored and want to get back to work.

I’m missing my computers, and I’m sure they are missing me :) , but I’ll be back home soon, and can tend to their every need :)

Ferrari can do no wrong

Yet again this past weekend, we have the Ferrari effect in action. Felipe Massa passes another driver whilst completely off the track.

Do we see a stewards enquiry, drive through penalty, 25 second penalty, not likely, lest we upset the Ferrari International Association.

Shame on you Formula 1.

Ferrari International Association Strikes Again

The FIA strikes again, with Hamilton’s demotion for being the best racing driver we have seen for years, but not having the good sense to drive for the FIA’s favourite team.

If this sort of crap continues Formula 1 is doomed.
